I’m sorry, but THIS isn’t racist? ‘WHITE HIPSTERS NOT ALLOWED’. If you replace it with any other race, THAT is racist, but if you put white, then SOMEHOW it isn’t racist! It’s racist to specificy race with a ‘get out’ or similar such message. Regardless of what the race is. Racism isn’t about privilage, status, etc. It’s about *disliking and discriminating against a race of people*. Sexism is about disliking/discriminating against *any given gender*. Ageism is about disliking/discriminating against *younger or older people*.

Prejudice and intolerance, regardless of age, sex, creed, color, etc is bad.

Assuming I agreed with your first statement, which I don’t, my question was purely about the somehow baffling notion that the world is a playtoy for POC, who get all the good stuff while poor unfortunate disempowered white people get the ‘scraps.’

Does that sound like reality to you?

I just…the message in the flier itself is about gentrification and the harm it can do to neighborhoods.  And yet all someone can see is “OMG, YOU HATE WHITE PEOPLE!”  THAT?  THAT’S FUCKING PRIVILEGE, RIGHT THERE. When you can ignore the actual problem in favor of claiming some kind of imagined oppression.
